Kent Event Centre: The New Home of the Swale Business Awards

Sponsoring the Swale Business Awards for the first time in 2018 is the Kent Event Centre. After realising the unstoppable growth of the Swale Business Awards, the organisers concluded that they needed a bigger venue to host the awards night. Upon contacting the Kent Event Centre they were delighted to learn that not only were the venue keen to host – they also wanted to come on board as sponsors as well!

Ashleigh Wilday, Conference Sales Co-ordinator at the Kent Event Centre, discussed her experience of the awards so far: “Our experience to date has been wonderful. Everyone has been so friendly and welcoming and it seems to be a very well organised event. We decided to sponsor the awards because although we are a commercial concern we like to help events that are growing or looking to venture into new territory. A number of our clients are based in the Swale area and it seemed like a good fit to assist the awards in their search for a venue.”

The Kent Event Centre itself is the commercial arm of the Kent County Agricultural Society – a charity supporting farming and agriculture in Kent. As part of the centre’s charitable works they provide bursaries for agricultural students going into higher education.

All profits generated from the Kent Event Centre go towards their charitable objectives, which includes the running of an annual event for around 2,800 children aged seven to nine. The event includes visiting the Kent Showground and learning about agriculture.

Ashleigh chatted about some of the exciting developments taking place at the Kent Event Centre this year: “Every year we try and re-invest a small amount into the facilities for the benefit of our clients and customers. This year we have changed all of our lighting to LED, which has made a huge difference. We have also upgraded CCTV coverage of the site, purchased more furniture which we hire out to event organisers, upgraded our AV facilities and purchased new large kitchen equipment. We also have some exciting new events this year including three music concerts for Little Mix, Craig David with Rita Ora and Simple Minds.”
