Consecutive Wins Propel William Whitmey into 2017

At the 2016 Swale Business Awards, for the second year in a row, William Whitmey Independent Funeral Directors were named the winners of the Customer Service and Commitment Award.

Director Alex Whitmey discussed his experience of the awards and how it felt to win two years in a row:

“We considered it a real privilege to be involved in the Swale Business Awards. Our most difficult task on opening our business was to get our name to be recognised in the local community and the Swale Business Awards have played a big part in doing this. We were absolutely elated to win the 2016 Customer Service and Commitment Award, and this was made even sweeter by the fact that we also won this award in 2015 making us the only company to win the same award in consecutive years in the decade the awards have been running.”

Rather than resting on their laurels, the team at William Whitmey Independent Funeral Directors are looking to propel their business to new heights in 2017. They have recently upgraded their transport fleet to include cars custom made by Colman Milne.

Alex also spoke about how his approach to customers has been a key to his business’ success: “Since opening the business we have steadily improved month by month. We ask every family for feedback on the service we provide giving us the opportunity to continually maintain our already high standards. There is nothing that we would not do to ensure that every family gets the perfect bespoke funeral and our motto is ‘The answer is YES, now what is the question’”.

Finally, Alex had some advice for businesses considering entering the 2017 awards: “If I am really honest I can’t understand why any business wouldn’t enter the awards! It is completely free and the process is very straightforward and uncomplicated. The awards get fantastic media coverage, and as a business you get to meet with lots of other local businesses, you get outside people coming in to look at your business and you get an opportunity to demonstrate and speak passionately about the work you do.”
