The Oast Osteopathy, based in the Oast Business Centre in Sittingbourne, provides a wide variety of health and wellbeing treatments, such as Osteopathy, Sports Therapy, Acupuncture, Reflexology, Mindfulness, Yoga and Pilates.
Founded 11 years ago by Claire Lloyd, the business has recently opened a satellite clinic on the Isle of Sheppey within Fittbox Gym, and has plans for future expansions to even more locations.
Claire thinks that part of her success is down to the fact that The Oast Osteopathy can provide clients with “the full package all under one roof.” Claire expanded: “We can take people from arriving with an injury and being diagnosed and treated by the Osteopath, through rehab with Sports massage and Pilates and then offering regular Classes for maintenance if it is needed.”
Claire and her team are very well thought of by her clients, and Claire believes that this is down to the honest approach that she takes with them. “We have gained a lot of respect from our clients as they know we will not be selling them anything they don't need or insisting they return for sessions they will not benefit from. Our practitioners take part in local events and attend local sports clubs and gyms so are on hand for advice outside of the work place as well. In many cases we are the first point of call before a client seeks other medical advice.”
This popularity with clients is extremely useful when recruiting new team members, as the majority of applicants are former clients! The growth of the business and the need for new staff in part comes from Claire’s determination to keep on diversifying what she offers. The Oast Osteopathy is now offering a variety of other therapies that supplement the needs of clients, including mindfulness and relaxation courses, Reflexology, Acupuncture and Nutrition. Claire’s ultimate goal is to offer the full spectrum of health and wellbeing services.
When asked why she felt her business deserved to be recognised at the 2019 Awards, Claire replied: “This business started as a big dream in my parents’ converted garage and from a small one-woman-band has expanded into a successful practice. I have a passion still to bring health and wellness to the community I live in and am thoroughly enjoying the business journey I am on. My team are fantastic and they work so hard to provide the service that they do, they are very well respected by the clients we have treated. We have a significant retention rate of clients returning when they have the need to again. My team deserve this award as much as the business itself!”
