Kedoo Optical (trading as Boots Opticians) is a thriving opticians based on Sittingbourne High Street, providing a selection of frames, lenses, contact lenses and accessories. They also proudly offer Hearing Care services 2 days a week, with an audiologist providing private Hearing Aids.
Established five-years-ago, Kedoo sets itself apart from other opticians by dedicating a longer period of time with each patient. Competitor eye tests lasts 20-25 minutes, but at Kedoo this will last for 30 minutes, thus leaving additional time for discussions on different lenses and allowing for personalised recommendations based on customer need.
Danyal Kedoo is a partner in the business. He went into more detail about the additional time that is spent with each customer: “We advise on what looks good and stay with them right till the end of their journey in our store. Their glasses will need to last them around two years so it is important they look good. My business partner, Paul Miller is famous in our store for choosing glasses. He has previously won Optical Consultant of the year. Customers always return to see him specifically as they really trust and believe in his opinions.”
Danyal explained that winning a Swale Business Award would be another string to his business’ bow: “We have already won an Award for Franchise Practice of the Year in 2018 and were finalists in our first year of opening too. It would be amazing to be recognised for our customer service at a local level. We don't build our business based on advertising but rather our recommendations from other customers, and I genuinely feel this is the best possible approach. It is our exceptional customer service and our constant pursuit in maintaining it that makes me feel we should be recognised for an award. We also continue to grow our business despite tough market and economic circumstances.”
