House of the Crafty Fox

The latest entrant into the 2019 Swale Business Awards is a creative design studio based at the Alexander Centre in Faversham. House of the Crafty Fox offers a vast array of creative undertakings, including paint your own pottery, child creative workshops, calligraphy, ceramics, silver-smithing, screen-printing and more. They also sell a selection of designer gifts and home wares.

Abigail Rozema explains that there is never a dull moment in her business: “We are a creative design studio with many strings to our bow! We provide creative activities for after school clubs, and we run our own after school club weekly during term time. We offer creative activities to local community groups such as beavers and brownies. We also have a wedding services aspect to our business, offering decoration, favours, personalised items and macramé wedding backdrop to hire or purchase too. We deliver a range of creative workshops and experiences to the corporate world, with our team building sessions and evenings. Lastly we have a monthly evening just for adults to come and get crafty with us in our relaxing studio!”

Abigail feels that her business stands out from her competitors due to the relaxed, no pressure environment of her studio. She elaborated: “Our workshops are designed to give you a taste of a craft at entry level, but still ensuring you produce something worthwhile and that you are proud of. I pride myself in being a venue that is appealing to all ages and not just child-focused; we offer a service that is inclusive to any age, gender or ability. We have been told a number of times that the atmosphere we create here at House of the Crafty Fox is therapy to anyone visiting, a true mental health benefiting experience to all. We give our customers the space and time, as well as the guidance, assistance and tools to leave here feeling they have been creative and taken time for themselves. We offer an experience not just a product.”

Abigail feels that House of the Crafty Fox deserves to be recognised at the Swale Business Awards: “We have always surpassed peoples expectations when visiting us, either through our welcoming attitude, exceptional customer service or sheer quality of our products. I have produced a business I am incredibly proud of, one which is not going to make me a millionaire but I believe will be incredibly successful once it starts to reach its potential. I am a resident of Faversham, incredibly proud to be a business owner of Faversham and am determined to see our town get the recognition of being somewhere great that it deserves.”
