For over twenty years, the picturesque Golden Leas Holiday Park has been attracting tourists to the Isle of Sheppey. The “Owners Only” holiday park offers a clubhouse, outdoor heated swimming pool, laundrette, shop, play park, skate park and playing fields.
Managed by Jo Treadgold, the Park now services 360 owners across four different sites encompassing both holiday and residential use. Jo discussed the popularity of Golden Leas: “We have noticed that ‘Staycation’ holiday home sales are on the increase. Partly, this is because not everyone wants the expense and hassle of holidaying abroad, when they can get just as much – or even more – enjoyment out of vacationing in the UK. We provide an enjoyable and relaxing environment for owners to make lifelong memories, through the quintessentially British tradition of caravanning.”
Those looking to enjoy a nice break in the UK would be hard pressed to find better hosts, as Golden Leas have won the coveted title of ‘friendliest park’ for the last two years in a row.
Finally, Jo spoke about why Golden Leas Holiday Park deserved to be recognised at the 2019 awards: “We're trying to revolutionise the way in which the Tourism Industry is viewed. Educating those that do not know all that the industry encompasses and provide a customer service experience like no other. Our customers are often living in tower blocks in London and our parks give them an opportunity to have a part of the countryside, in a safe, secure environment they may not get elsewhere. We genuinely care about the customer - the customer comes first and everything else will follow. It's not about reinventing the wheel, but more shifting focus to what truly matters; the customer.”
