Faversham’s Girl Got Curves is a plus-size bikini line dedicated to making women love the body they have in a bikini. The bikinis are a brand new design that has been sized specifically for a comfortable fit whilst still being fashionable, and they are all made in the UK using Italian fabric.
Girl Got Curves is the brainchild of Miranda Haston, who saw a gap in the market for body-positive bikinis aimed at women in UK sizes 14 to 24. As an E-commerce business, one of the first hurdles that Miranda has had to get over with new customers is getting them to experience the product and grow trust in the brand. Miranda has tackled this by getting herself in front of her consumers at specialist events, allowing them to be able to try the product for themselves and therefore give them a better understanding of the quality and the design.
Despite being a freshman business, Miranda has huge plans for the future. Over the next three-years she plans to begin selling to the US market, as well as building a team of employees who are all equally passionate about body positivity and pushing boundaries within the fashion industry.
Miranda described her journey so far: “Growing up without a degree and any real job prospects I worked for over a year to self-teach myself everything about fabric, manufacturing, marketing and everything else that comes with running a business. I took risks and invested a lot into myself. Girl Got Curves is helping people everyday with and without our bikinis, it has changed people’s lives and that was my main goal when starting out. With society’s pressure on women it has been my mission to help women know their size does not equal their worth.”
