Erika Juodelaite founded Beauty Poetry four-years-ago. In that time she has grown her business into a thriving eyelash extension, make-up and beauty training salon. Starting as a mobile beautician, her business has grown organically – first to operating from home, then to a space at someone else’s salon, and now she has her own business premises at St George’s Business Park.
Erika’s salon is beginning to get noticed. She recently picked up a Silver award at the Kent Health and Business Awards, and she has had her work displayed in Lash Inc magazine. “I have clients coming from all over now,” Erika explained. “Beauty Poetry has such a reputation that people are traveling to Sittingbourne from as far afield as Essex and Hastings to have their lashes done here.”
Erika feels that one of the keys to her success has been training: “I always say to my employees that they should never stop learning. I encourage them and myself to attend different courses and conferences and to undertake training in new skills.”
Erika closed by discussing why she felt that Beauty Poetry should be recognised at the 2019 awards: “We are small but strong. We are dreaming big and doing a lot to achieve those dreams. I started the business from nothing and to then open a salon in a couple years without winning the lottery was challenging but that's something that I achieved. I believe that everything is possible and winning a Swale Business Award would help raise our profile and show that we are doing something right!”
