Now in their 29th year, Chris Browne Builders Ltd continues to be one of Swale’s most established commercial builders. The 20-strong team provides professional building services and full design and build service to commercial premises throughout Kent and the South East. Works include new build premises, extensions, refurbishments, repairs and maintenance to all commercial premises.
Surveyor Deborah Turner has seen the business grow steadily over the last few years, and the business has remained buoyant, despite the uncertainty the Brexit vote has caused in the building market. She discussed how the business had remained resilient: “We are specialist providers of building works to schools and nursing homes, and after the Brexit vote there was a definite uncertainty within our client market, especially in the Care Home sector, as to whether to proceed with expansions to care homes. Fortunately, due to our longevity, we have built a strong loyal customer base, which we have nurtured with excellent customer service and the quality of our workmanship. We are therefore carrying out smaller projects but for more clients which means we can maintain our staff levels and productivity.”
With numerous competitors on the field, Deborah feels that it is Chris Browne Builders’ attention to detail in the quality of the workmanship that makes their work stand out. She commented: “Our projects speak for themselves as result of the care and attention given to all aspects of the project by our team. When clients give you a glowing recommendation you know that all the extra effort is truly worthwhile.”
When asked why she felt that Chris Browne Builders should be 2017’s Swale Business of the Year, Deborah replied: “We have established a successful local business employing local staff and using whenever possible local suppliers and small businesses. We strive to offer the best quality to our clients and take the time at the outset of projects to really understand the needs of the client so that we always exceed expectations. Chris Browne has grown the company over the last 30 years. It is an independent local family business, which means that we do have the time to build strong relationships with our staff, clients and suppliers. Customer satisfaction is our first priority and our staff are recruited based on their attitude and their values as well as their competency to undertake the works.”
