“When you look fabulous, you feel fabulous” is the mantra of Radiance by Helena; a fledgling business in Sittingbourne that introduces its customers to a world of colour. Owned and managed by Helena Sait, Radiance by Helena helps its customers to look and feel fabulous with practical, friendly and affordable colour-styling.
Customers are treated to specialist ‘Colour Analysis Sessions’ where they are draped in precision dyed fabrics in order to discover which shades, tones and tints of colour make them look and feel the best versions of themselves. Helena discussed what these sessions entailed: “We learn about everything colour – from fabulous colour combination ideas, to colour accessories, shoes, hair and make up! The more in harmony everything is from your personal palette of colours, the more fabulous you look.”
Colour permeates every element of Helena’s business, as she also offers Make up Colour Classes, Wedding Colour Consultations, Men’s Colour, Colour Parties and Analysis for Children.
Helena explains that her customers are mainly women from all walks of life: “My customers are from the Swale and Kent area and can be aged from eight to eighty – what I do is for anyone and everyone who wants to become more fabulous! This could mean women interested in looking and feeling good or interested in beauty and fashion; new mums, older mums, more mature women, career women or young women who want to impress or find love. Sometimes customers come in preparation for special events or occasions like weddings, birthdays or a day at the races, sometimes for interview dress advice, sometimes just for a pampering treat!”
Helena discussed why she felt her business would be a prime contender for Swale Business of the Year: “Starting a new business and getting my name out there has been a real challenge; however I have put my nose to the grindstone and tried to find innovative ways to spread the word. I started my own networking group and have been lucky to now get most of my business from word of mouth recommendations. I have since been invited to talk about my business on the radio and present a fashion show! My business has been growing at a time when local competitors are going out of business. I think part of the reason for my success is that I am truly passionate about this, I know that with my help women – and men- can feel better about themselves, look amazing and benefit from a huge boost in their confidence and I’ve made sure that my services are always affordable.”
