Over the last three years, AngelsLocks have made a thriving business selling hair extension solutions and providing training courses. The Sheerness-based business offers hand-crafted, high-quality affordable hair extensions available in a range of four different application methods.
Company Director Angela Croall discussed what separated AngelsLocks from their competition: “We only work with trained technicians and salons. We offer educational courses for trained hairdressers and qualified technicians. We are hair extension technicians ourselves and actively use our own products – meaning we are able to fully identify with our customers specific needs.”
Despite being very successful since the company was founded, it has not always been plain sailing for AngelsLocks. The business suffered a serious setback in October when Angela was hospitalised and unable to work for many months. This meant that her team had to step up and take over day-to-day management of the business on her behalf. Angela commented on how this has affected the business since “My team did an incredible job and the experience really highlighted their individual strengths. During the time I was forced to work at home I began implementing new marketing strategies, which have now become part of my daily work activity and have allowed the business to grow further. We have turned the crisis into an opportunity and learned from it, and a set work agenda has now been put in place where all staff can multi-task in the event of someone else not being able to work.”
Angela has not let this setback hold her back and the business has some exciting plans for the next few years, including rolling out a schedule of mobile education around the UK and to having their team of educators deliver training both in the UK and internationally.
Angela spoke about why she had entered AngelsLocks into the 2016 Swale Business Awards: “We have grown consistently year-on-year since we were established in October 2013. As a company, we have always aimed to set ourselves apart from other hair extension suppliers by offering exclusivity to qualified professionals. This code of ethics regarding who we sell to allows for our brand to grow in reputation and credibility. We have never lost sight of our vision and believe that our business should be able to grow whilst maintaining our core beliefs and integrity.”
