On the outskirts of Faversham, Judd’s Folly Hotel is situated in three acres of land which houses 26 bedrooms, function rooms, event sites and a restaurant.
Winners of the Retail and Hospitality Award last year, Judd’s Folly was taken over in 2009 by owner Jason Wolverson and has undergone extensive refurbishment since. The completion of the refurbishment makes it the perfect setting for a wide range of activities, with an influx of weddings and civil partnerships taking place at the hotel. It has also seen the number of people dining in the restaurant dramatically increase. Judd’s Folly caters for conferences for Kent County Council, NHS and the International Tour Companies Agency among others.
With the number of hotels in the Swale vicinity set to increase over the next five years, it is important the Judd’s Folly continue to set itself apart from the rest. The hotel is looking to increase its capacity to 30 rooms and carry out a complete overhaul of the Courtyard House. Plans to expand to other areas of the country and create a small group of unique hotels across the UK are also in sight.
Jason has worked extremely hard to bring the hotel back to its original motel splendour and believes Judd’s Folly deserve recognition at the Swale Business Awards for the staff above all else.
He said: “We are constantly complemented on our excellent staff and I am proud to work with them all. “Winning an award would mean recognition for all the hard work that has been put into the regeneration of a tired and dilapidated building to a property we are proud of.
“The staff deserve to see from an outside source that we recognise all their hard work and that it is noticed locally.
“Judd’s Folly Hotel and the team behind it are what make a great hotel I am proud to be the owner of.”
