“Hair extensions to suit individual clients’ needs”, is the proud boast of Angels Locks in Sheerness.
The High Street salon has been up and running for nearly two years and is fast establishing itself as the town’s go-to stylist.
Director, Angela Croall has self-financed the business, and any profits since tills started ringing have been used to boost the companys burgeoning profile.
She said “I reinvested the money into having my own product lines manufactured.”
“I now have a full range of stock at all times”
“Plus, in the past five-month period, I’ve increased my turnover and profit from last year.”
She said “good quality products from overseas, custom made to my own specification”, had also been sourced with the added income.
“I’ve built up a strong reputation for my brand identity as I’ve needed to set myself apart from others as the hair extension industry is very competitive”, she added.
“And I’ve worked hard to build my reputation on quality, price-point and excellent customer service.”
Angela said planning has been key to success, thus far.
“I’ve had to assess what will be needed a good six weeks ahead of time as processing and shipping times always have to be taken into consideration”, she said.
“It’s important not to have incorrect stock sitting on the shelves, and it’s just as important not to run out of popular stock items”.
Angela and her three staff may work out of Sheppey, and the company is still relatively new, but it hasn’t stopped her thinking about extending the hirsute enterprise to other parts. She said: “My objective is for the business to expand, not just in the UK, but internationally too.”
“In the future I am to bring out a different range of temporary hair solutions products, aimed specifically for the general public for safe and easy application”.
